Hi there!
I would really appreciate if everyone (who has time) could share a list of their symptoms with me... i'm really feeling down today... my barium enema test came back completly normal... my GI said he doesn't need to see me anymore and i still have no answers!!! he seen me once ordered the test and thats it he's done!
i requested that he see me again and the secretary ended up giving me another appt.... i said having a normal ba enema doesn't mean i'm all healed... anyways i'm just tired and want this all to be figured out so the healing can begin... I took a list of the complete blood panel off of here and gave it to my gp so he could order it... he said he has to call the hospital to make sure they can do it first.... I don't think he knew what the test was he asked what it was going to prove... so mabey if i print everyone elses symptoms off he'll begin to see the common denominator....i notices the doctors don't think all my symptoms are related to my stomach issues anyways i'll start by listing my symptoms although some of you have heard it already!
I greatly appreciate all your help
and thanks in advance!!!

Hope this helps--for as long as I can remember: sensitive stomach, nausea, being lightheaded. Two years ago, iron deficiancy anemia, lightheaded, urgent and frequent D, tingling in face, strange sensation in left arm and hands, depression, anxiety, easy brusing, brain fog, excema on left eyelid, indigestion with pressure under ribs, 15 lb. weight loss in a few month period, gas, and food cravings. Was DX in June of 05, gluten-free since then and doing pretty well.

I have celiac disease and I'll give you a list of all the symptoms that I have had:
extreme to mild diarrhea
floating foul stools
mild to severe upper abdominal pain
general stomach pain
flu-like symptoms
weight loss
bloating
nausea
gas
dizziness
joint pain
hair loss
mosquito-like spots on the skin, sometimes they develop into a rash
mild insomnia (I have trouble sleeping at night even though I am tired)
brain fog (sometimes to the point when I don't feel like I should drive)
mild depression
fatigue
heart palpitations
nervousness
irritablility
anxiety
Some of these symptoms, like hair loss, and joint pain only happened before my diagnosis and a few months after I started the diet. I also developed a few new symptoms once I was off gluten for awhile and then had gluten accidents. Those symptoms include, spots on the skin, heart palpitations, and upper abdominal stomach pain.

symtoms prior to going gluten-free (flare up again if glutened):
(Note: I was only dx'd with gluten sensitivity by blood test b/c I never got the biospy, but my mom was dx'd with a positive biospy - my symptoms and positive response to a gluten-free diet were enough evidence for me)
mood swings/anger issues/depression
tummy aches (was constantly taking mylanta for about 3 years before dx'd)
loose stools, sometime diaherra
occasional mucous in stools
undigested food in stools
headaches/migranes both with and without vision problems
brain fog
joint pain in knees and ankles (want to get a bone density test soon, never got one)
scholiosis (causes shoulder pain that is exacerbated by gluten)
psoriasis
hair loss (diffuse)
acne on face and back (goes away when i am gluten-free, comes back if i am glutened)
excessive gas
burping
appendicitis (operation prior to dx'd)
sweating/fever
fatigue
dizziness
hyperglycemic tendencies (need to get actual dx from doc)
mouth sores/ulcers
i am sure there are more, but this is all i remember now.

Just wanted to add that I have most of the same symptoms! Have your blood tested and go to a different gastroenterologist, if necessary. I saw a hematologist who diagnosed me and sent me to the gastro doc. My biopsy confirmed the rest.

The problems I had from the time I was a three (or less, but I can't remember) were muscle and joint pain, severe backaches, asthma, depression, canker sores, psoriasis, fatigue, brain fog, inability to concentrate, mood swings, unable to gain weight (until the age of 19, after which I had trouble keeping slim), many allergies and intolerances (both food and environmental), alternating diarrhea and constipation, stomach aches, skin problems, hives, headaches (later severe migraines, lasting up to three weeks at a time), fibromyalgia, gas and bloating, night sweats, extreme sensitivity to heat and cold, terrible dizzy attacks that would completely incapacitate me, sometimes for days. After having children gained more and more weight without any explanation, being told I had no willpower and should eat less! Also swelling of hands and feet, blurred vision.
This summer went to severe, watery diarrhea (once for five weeks continuously), extreme weakness, terrible stomach cramps, food not being digested at all (could see the undigested food floating in the bowl), getting sicker by the day.
Since I am off gluten (and many other things), my bowel movements have been completely normal (the first time since May), I have lost weight (before I started on the diet my weight had gone up to 238 pounds, and in the three weeks on the diet has gone down to 223 as of today), the joint, back and muscle pain has gone down so much that I am off painkillers most of the time (I was on codeine 24 hours a day just to cope), the stomach ache is almost gone, my skin is clearing up, I am starting to have some energy, my ankles aren't swollen. I am hoping to know soon what it feels like to be well! I don't think I have EVER been well in my life.

I can remember having "nervous stomach" and complaining of "stomach aches" all through childhood.
In high school, I'd come home from school exhausted and fall asleep while waiting for dinner.
In college, I was diagnosed with IBS and TMJ and the two seemed to alternate back and forth. I ate tons of sugar and carbs because I was always too thin and felt I could eat whatever I wanted. I craved chocolate.
I felt bad a lot... fatigued, bloated. In my junior year, I was dxed with mono and had to drop out for a semester. I was home-bound for about three months.
Struggled with IBS off and on until I was upgraded to ulcerative colitis in 1999. Achieved remission about 2-3 years later with the help of dietary changes, supplements and probiotics. Got complacent and started eating a lot of grains and sugar again and am currently back in a flare.
Current symptoms are:
Yeast over growth in digestive tract
Gas, rumbling
Diarrhea, abdominal cramping
Allergic reactions - runny nose, watery, itchy eyes
Rash on my left foot and sometimes on my eyelids
Brain fog
Sharp joint pains off and on in my hips
Fatigue
Mood swings
Menstrual problems
Occasional headaches
Rapid weight loss
Dry skin
Sinus congestion
Very reactive to a variety of foods
By far, my most troublesome symptoms are digestive.
I've never been tested for gluten intolerance, but I plan to be tested for it and casein intolerance. I feel better when I don't eat grains or dairy and limit my sugar/carbs.
