Okay....for months now Rubio's Mexican Restaurant has told me their steak and chicken tacos with corn tortillas have no wheat/gluten/flour whatsoever and that I can have them.
I've been eating there periodically and have never gotten sick.
I went in this weekend and they have new allergy info. posted that says their steak and chicken contain wheat. I asked the manager (she knows me from all the questions I always ask) and she went back and looked at a box of steak. It said "wheat protein" or something to that effect.
Of course I stopped eating there immediately but my question is, why didn't I ever get sick? Is it that I am not sensitive enough to that small amount?
I'm confused
and bummed that I can't eat at Rubio's anymore. It's really shaken my confidence about restaurants in general.
