Going to Worcester, MA for the holidays. Other than chains restaurants, wondering what restaurants and markets are gluten-free around there? Thanks! tongue.gif

Check the web for Outback Steakhouses in the area, and Wholefoods has all of their store locations by state listed on their site. That's the best way. Look up Henry's, Boney's, and Trader Joe's, as well. When you get in touch with one place, ask them to direct you to other health food stores in the area.

I live in worcester-hopefully this will help:

1) outback in auburn 10 minutes away

2) two restaurants: 111 Chophouse and the Sole proprieter (sp) are owned by the same folks and have done well by me when I explain my needs. Most (all?) or the salads at the Sole dont come with croutons anyway. I get the greek salad, a piece of grilled fish (no sauce), sweet potato, and veggie (no sauce). They have a flourless choc cake which I dont get b/c i dont know if the pan if floured. I get the flan.

3) Living earth health food store at intersection of park and chandler has a lot of gluten-free stuff

4) shaws supermarkets in this area have a natural foods section and tend to have gluten-free stuff

more ?'s let me know!

I got glutened a couple of months ago in the Outback in Auburn - be careful!
My daughter goes to school at Holy Cross in Worcester and we eat there a lot. 111 Chop House and the Sole Proprietor are good, but pricey. Try Brew City - it's right across the street from the 111 Chop House. It's more of a neighborhood bar/restuarant, but the food is good and they have always been very good about listening about my gluten-free problems.

Usually broiled scrod, but tell them you're on a gluten-free diet and that they should leave the bread crumbs off. I think last time I had steamed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes with it. I've eaten there four or five time since I was diagnosed and I've never had a problem.
