HI
I thought I saw a post earlier about the Gold Emblem CVS spices but didn't find when I searched here.
I got some Chopped Onions and it didn't list ingred....so assumed it's just dried onions BUT I know you can't ever assume anything....I ck'd other spices while there and they listed ingred.
I googled and couldn't find anything. Guess i could call CVS and see who produces them but I have found them not a very cooperative company to deal with re: medicine ingred...so
Anyone know?????. Going to check the Delphi list now .
These are so cheap but not worth getting sick over.
Thanks

I've never seen any gold emblems on CVS products. I have, however, seen "This product is free from gluten" on some of the CVS vitamins and supplements; no sticker, but it's written on the label.

Thanks

Hi Judy~

I've called them on this before and they were VERY uncooperative. I've continued to use the spices because like you said there were no ingredients listed and it should therefore be simply what the particular spice is and that's it. Please let me know if you find out anything.

Thanks,

Kristy

Judy and Kristy--I just got off the phone with Cindy, who is a Supervisor in the Cust. Relations Dept. at CVS. She was very pleasant and told me she understood the need for a person with Celiac to know if there is any gluten present in a product. She is going to check into it, going to the manufacturer to find out for sure. She told me she thought that they were just pure spices, but will find out. She said she'd call me back later today. Even asked if I had an answering machine so she could leave a message if I was not here. I'll keep you posted! smile.gif

Hi Judy--Doing pretty good today. This weather is great--so mild for Jan.--they say it should hit 60 by Thurs! To keep the "box", make sure to keep the [quote name-date-time-and post# in brackets like this at the beginning and end of the post you are quoting]. I hope the rep. from CVS gets back to me by the time you have to start your dinner biggrin.gif . Hope all is well with you over there in Phila.

Well, I just got a call from Cindy at CVS. She told me that they can not say that their spices are gluten-free because they are not made in a certified gluten-free facility. There is a risk of cross contamination. With that said, she went on to say that if gluten were actually present in the product, it would be clearly listed on the package.

That dosen't sound any different to me that any of the other companies that will list any gluten. I think it's a good thiing.

Hopefully whatever "got" you 2 days ago has worked it's way out of your system. sad.gif I was glad to know about the CVS spices, too, because I have a CVS right down the street that I stop at often. Sometimes, when I only need 1 or 2 things, it's a lot faster to go there than all the way to the grocery store. Looks like you got the "boxes" down! Feel better so you can get out there and enjoy the sunshine biggrin.gif

That's what I use CVS for also. Hate to shop in the big grocery.
All my meds are there too.
Went outside for a few minutes to 'soak in the fresh air and sunshine' after bleaching out the bath tub...I think that Jim using Dial soap and me not cleaning the bath tub before I take a bath might be part of the problem...who knows...that's what gets me...the 'russian rullete ...we play all the time.
Tried the dove sensitive body wash today in the shower and seemed to work. The soap bar we use doesn't
bother me but just don't like it after it gets old...
You have had good luck with the dove didn't you?
I just can't face sitting at this computer today doing a search of the thread we did ages ago.
Also, after using the body lotion from Savorrine does your face get red? Mine does but it doesn't itch
Judy

PS 'by jove--think i got it!
PSS- is there a spell ck on this thing?????

I had a reaction from Dove soap. It was when I ran out of Savonnerie soap and was waiting for the order. I had D and was very itchy. I don't use the Savonnerie lotion on my face--only on my hands mostly, and sometimes on my arms and legs. I found since using the MyChelle Honeydew Cleanser, I don't need moisturizer on my face at all. I love that stuff--I get it at Whole Foods--not cheap, but really good.

[font=Garamond][size=3]Hello everyone ~ 1st time posting smile.gif . I just wanted to add some info about a CVS brand B-complex I've been using for at least over 1 month. The label states: No wheat, gluten, milk, or milk derivatives, lactose, sugar, preservatives, artificial color, artificial flavor, salt. BUT it has brewer's yeast in it!!! ACK!

I have been under some MAJOR intense stress lately & have been in a state of panic 24/7. Stomach & digestion been a mess, can't stop shaking, weight loss that I can't afford to lose, etc. Also have been in a lot more pain (I'm on pain meds also).

I'm pretty sure the brewer's yeast contained gluten since the label states there is no sugar.

Now I am left with my medications not being absorbed & obviously not working to their full extent. GRRRR! I am so angry about this ~ especially since the label clearly stated no gluten.

Does anyone have any idea of how long until I'm not a walking panic attack? I was taking 3 of these supplements per day making a total of 300 mg of the yeast daily.

Thanks in advance & thanks for reading smile.gif .

No, it was the bar. A lot of people use it with no problem, but I still think that it was that soap that bothered me. Maybe mine was made right after something with wheat or oats and there was still a residue on the line? Are you feeling better today?

Hi Patty
I was until about 1/2 hr ago. Was going swimming but had D.
I broke down last nite and had some gluten-free Eddy's vanilla ice cream. I have pretty much cut out the dairy but ....guess it's on the list of NO MORE....
I just read a post from you about losing weight and saw you cut out rice bread. I'm pretty much just using lettuce as a base or wrap instead of breads. Is it just the carbs or another issue for cutting bread.
Eat glutaino pretzels as the snack so still carbs...
your eating plan sounds healthy and safe.

Now...going to hook up my bath spay and give it a try. It's a dark grey day here and don't feel like going out but feel the 'need to treat myself' wish me luck.
If you don't see me on line...i probably fried myself in the tub tongue.gif
Yes, mentioned yesterday i scrubed the tub to rid Jim's dial resude from it... tongue.gif
Have a great day.
