I have not had a period for 2 years and my estrogen levels are very low althugh I am not goinmg thrugh menapause. I am 29 years old. The doctor first tried giving me progesterone and I still didn't have a period and then I tried clomed and had a period in July. It made me feel so terrible, stomach pain, bloating etc. So I didn't take it again and didn't have a period again. I was afraid the bloating and pain would be permanent. I decided to go on it again and it is starting to get bad again. The doctor said it happens because my estrogen is low and when I take the clomed it goes way up which causes my ovaries to swell. Anyone else have anything like this and did you eventually get pregnant? I am sitting here feeling like ^%%&*%^%$%! and hope it is all worth it and really doesn't set me back or stay permanently. I have been gluten free now for about 3 1/2 months and things are definetly starting t improve.

I am late for your original post, but I just joined the forum this evening. I am on my fourth round of clomid. Every single time, I had a different reaction to the medication. The first one was purely emotional with very few physical symptoms. My third round - I was incredibly bloated. Called the doctor who told me to put my feet up and rest as he was worried about overstimulation of the ovaries. This last round made me quite dizzy.

I know it's frustrating when you want to be pregnant and all you get is a bunch of nasty side effects!

I was gluten-free when my first child was conceived. For some reason, I went back on the gluten when she was born. Have been trying to conceive a second child for almost two years now. I just recently heard about the gluten/fertility connection and am once and for good gluten-free.

If it helps you at all I took clomid for my first 2 pregnancies. The first time for 2 1/2 years and the second time just once. The third time I got pregnant all on my own. It was so worth it, just hang in there!
