I have to go to the dentist. I need to know what does my dentist need to know about my celiac (apart that I have it?). Should I be concerned about the products they use in my mouth? What about if I have a cavity? Should I be weary of the amalgam filling? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I brought my own toothpaste for the cleaning. I'm glad I did, because my dentist didn't know if the stuff he used was gluten free or not dry.gif .

Have someone in the dentist office check for gluten. I did and they found that several of their products have gluten. I can't have a topical when getting the shots because it has gluten. The stuff they use for polishing the teeth has gluten. Everything else was okay.

My dentist was extremely helpful, they pulled out files, researched and called a few places in order to figure out what can and can't be used. Perhaps if you called them and told them ahead of time they might do the same thing?
