I was orginally DX in October 2005. I have been gluten free ever since then. I was DX in a hospital ER by the attending doc first. My GI kept sending me home on a low fat diet. Finally they all agreed it was celiacs and my biopsy came back positive. Now its March and I refuse to go back to the GI that I was originally with. He sent me home from the hospital with D and vomiting. He did this twice. He refused to believe that there was anything more wrong. He said that there is nothing more that we can do for you. So now I need to know what step is next. I am feeling ok. Not the greatest, but without a doubt better than before. What should I do?

Tinkerbell--If you feel that you want further testing sometime in the future to monitor your healing progress, you could find another GI that already treats Celiacs. But you really don't need a doctor for this, in my opinion. You have been diagnosed with Celiac--and the only treatment for it is the gluten-free diet. I have gone for 2 follow-up visits--at 2 and 6 months post dx. Both times, I was with the doctor less than 5 minutes. Of course, it's up to you smile.gif
