Right now I am going to school in MI and I have run across this company that seem to have a lot of gluten-free foods and they are really good about labeling things (their canned beans, soy sause, frozen chicken and katsup are gluten-free) Its called Great Value, they are cheap compared to other brand names. Has anyone else had any experiance with this company (it seems its only sold at Wal-Mart)?

Great Value is Wal Mart's private label brand... they recently rolled out the gluten free labeling on their products... it is pretty awesome that a company like Wal Mart is willing to start doing this.

But I have a question....since there are no laws governing "gluten free" labeling in the U.S., what does the label mean?

I occasionally buy some gluten-free products from Great Value and other manufacturers, but I don't really trust these labels.

How do others deal with this ungoverned label??
