My daughter is on state health insurance. I just reviewed her labs that her doctor did, and he DID do age appropriate tests, and they were negative. I know she has an issue though, because she was vomiting constantly and when I stopped adding cereal to her bottle (doctor ordered for reflux) the vomiting is very rare. But, she continues to have stomach cramping and other digestive issues that her doctor can't explain. I would like to do a non-invasive test (Enterolab) but I am wondering if Medicaid will reimburse the cost. Does anyone have experience with this? I couldn't afford to do the tests without reimbursement, and I would like to see some conclusive reasons for her digestive issues.

I was just about to ask the same thing! My dd is also on Medicaid. I think I will talk to her pedi about it. I am thinking that maybe, if she orders it, then medicaid will pay. The samples may have to be taken by the pedi, too, but that is ok with me. I LOVE my pedi, she is so understanding and supportive about all of this mess!

I don't know about Medicaid, but my insurance company wouldn't reimburse it. It's not a mainstream medical thing so I'd guess you'd have some trouble. Why not just try the diet? If you're someone who can stick with the diet without an "official" diagnosis, dietary response is an easy, cheap way to go.
