I just recently woke up in a pool of sweat. I also ate a lot of candy right before bed. I havent had a lot of sugar like this in a long time and havent had a night sweat until now. I know its not a big worry, but do you think sugar and nightsweat have a connection. I also have a bad stomach ache. Thoughts?

I found this: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art...rticlekey=57394

It says that night sweats can be caused by hypoglycemia, so if you ate a lot of sugar before bed, your sugar could have dropped at night and caused the sweat.

Just wanted to second that the night sweats can be caused by hypoglycemia. My fiance has type 1 diabetes and if her blood sugar gets too low during the night she has a night sweat. It is what usually wakes her up when she gets low during the night. If you were feeling shakey, nauseous, confused, generally really yucky, those are all other signs of hypoglycemia. Eating lots of candy before bed probably caused your blood sugar to sky rocket and then your body overcompensated while you were sleeping causing the hypoglycemia. That's just my guess what happened anyway. There are probably other things that could cause night sweats

I will get nightsweats if I eat a bunch of candy...I get it from too much sugar and also from the chemicals and additives in the processed foods.

I dont have hypoglycemia though..... I have leaky gut and candida.

Didnt you say in another post that you are treating candida?? Eating alot of candy before bed is not the best thing to do with candida. I would guess thats why you had a nightsweat and an upset stomach. sad.gif
