I was at our local pond sitting on a picnic bench. I saw an Osprey hovering...and whipped out my camera.

WOW! Looks like a catfish. Looks heavy too.

Did you also see him/her move the fish so that it aligned with his/her body for better flying? I love that ospreys do that; have never seen it up close. Congrats to you!!!!

Thanks for the nice comments. I can't remember if I told you guys, but the local paper is going to print the zoom of the Osprey carrying the catfish. j

I caught a couple of similar shots (action animal shots) while I was in my garden at at the grocery store this weekend:
Squirrel goes Whee!
Bird goes Wheeeee!

Beautiful pictures!! Did your paper print your pics? I would have been tembling so much from excitment of seeing the Osprey I would have messed the pictures up. Again, great pictures, and thanks for sharing them!

Nice, Action shots of animals are the hardest, at least to get in focus. I like the squirrel:)
