I was just wondering if anyone else here is like me. I have Cerebral Palsy and celiac disease. It's no big deal. I don't suspect any kind of link betwwen the two. I'm just interested to see if there is anyone else dealing with both as well. I've notice since being on the diet some of the thingd the docs thought were CP related have gone away or gotten better.

Hi Crystal! I have mild spastic diplegia & have recently been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance. I've only been gluten-free for a couple weeks now but it's amazing how the body reacts when you get that out of your system! I'm excited to hear that you are feeling some relief... I hope I can too! Nice to know there's other like me out there wink.gif

Take care & best of luck to you...

I knew there had to be at least one other out there. I've notced that I don't quite shake as much. My spasms aren't so bad. (about a month before the diet they got so bad I had to take flexiril just to deal!!) I feel like its easier to move! Before I was getting botox shots for my right left because my knee would hurt so bad. Now I don't think I need it anymore. (I have a love hate relationship with the EMG machine anyway!) Now if I could get a handle on the back pain and not quit getting gluttined all would be great! I hope you also find some relief.

I have been getting spasms in my hamstrings a lot lately and it's annoying.... it would be nice for those to go away. This is a bit off topic, but I have a surgery scheduled for gastroc release & was thinking of getting botox injections in my hammies & hips too. Is it worth it?

I tell ya though... being off gluten sure makes my stomach feel SOOO much better. If I eat anything with gluten in it, my stomach bloats up like a balloon instantly. It feels nice to have no more pain there. Now if only my friggen legs would cooperate with me lol wink.gif

Gastroc relese? I'm not familar with that. The first couple of hours after the botox are the worst. I was a little sore but my leg didn'tfeel like lead for three months so to me it was worth it. They mostly injected around my knee a a little in the hamstrings. My back is my issue right now. I can take any of my meds for another month because of my ulcer so I just have to deal.
I know what you mean about your legs not cooperating! It's annoying! You thing you cleared even a slight step next thing you know your on the ground. When the celiac disease hit it's worst I fell more and was running into things left and right. Now that I've been on the diet it's getting better. I'm still weaker and more shakey than I would like but I'm going to PT to try to get some of it back. (I hate PT!!!) wink.gif
