I liek my daycare and trust them! That aside....

My sone is 2 1/2. Since Tuesday he has has BAD diarehha(he has been tested was negative for celiac). I figured it was a bug or he ate something that didn't agree(he has prob with apple juice). Well after being off the 4th, when I dropped him off this am I asked what he had to eat on tuesday there.(his dad picked him up from daycare tues and brought him home before bed). Nothing he ate on Tuesday jumped out at me.

He had the big D all day wed and had 3 at daycare today. They wrote all the parents in his room at note saying that multiple children in the room have the big D, fever and vomiting! 4 teachers went home today!!!

All of this makes me wonder b/c we got norvirus last year(same sympotoms and it's airborne) and the only place he could have gotten it was daycare! I hope this isn't happening again!

Needed to vent!!!!! Sorry!!!

Side note....should I have him tested in a diffrent way for celiac?????He had blood tests and I had these same syptoms when I was a child!

Jessie,

I don't have much to add, but it may be a bug going around. Yup, sometime we need to look outside of the box.

As far as your little guy, since you are diagnosed, what do you think about letting him be gluten light?

I am not a fan of daycares for personal reasons and it is not related to gluten issues. Should I have grandchildren (and it looks like I may be a grandma), none of my grandchildren living in my town will never see the insides of a daycare. (PM me and I will expain, the bitter in me). I do understand the need for working parents.

Hope he feels better soon.

Lisa,

He is gluten light.....by that I mean he gets no gluten when at home. He gets it at daycare for breakfast and lunch. and they don't offer gluten at every meal.

I think you may be right on the "bug" thing!!! I just feel so bad for him, he even ASKS for cream to be put on!!! Poor little guy!

Thanks for your input!!!!! It's appreciated!

Sounds like a virus to me. It's hard because every time I'm sick I blame celiac. In February I woke up one morning withe the worst vertigo, blamed gluten and went to work. Turned out to be the flu. I should have stayed home and would have had I known it was a virus.
