I'm leaving Thursday for a trip to Asheville to see my aunt (she's dying of cancer). I'll be staying with my cousin, who loves to go out to eat. Does anyone know of any restaurants there that might have a gluten-free menu? My cousin doesn't understand at all, but I know she would be happy to let me choose a restaurant that I could eat at. I rarely eat out, so I'm a bit concerned.

I'll be going to a health food store as soon as I can to buy stuff to bake and cook with, so I think I'm covered for all the "regular" meals. My cousin agreed to let me do the cooking while I'm there so I don't get sick.

I don't have any gluten free experiences there, since I was just dx last week, but my family vacationed in Asheville last year and it is an extremely "organic" and "natural foods" type of place. I doubt you'll have any problems finding gluten-free food there. Good luck. Hope my response isn't too late.

Thanks, I've been there and back. I discovered the same thing - there are lots of organic and "natural" options. I had great luck at Earth Faire and Ingles getting groceries and we just ate out once at a place called the Flat Rock Grill. The server and chef were both knowledgable and I had a simple, but good meal.
