I finally am going to have my first consultation w/ a new GI doctor today and am very nervous. What kind of questions would you guys recommend I ask? I have printed off a copy of all my symptoms and plan to just give it to him and let him go from there. How should I mention Celiac? Should I bother to show him my Enterolab results?

I'm so worried I'm just going to get the "IBS" diagnosis I got 18 years ago. sad.gif

Thanks for any ideas and wish me luck unsure.gif

Is there any history in your family of celiac disease or other digestive diseases? What did your Enterolab results show?

I'm not aware of any history of Celiac in my family -- my father has some of the same digestive issues (diarrhea) that I have, although, probably not as bad -- he has diarrhea probably once or twice a week where I have it much more frequently (I have other symptoms too). He had a prick test that said he was allergic to wheat a long time ago, but he doesn't stay away from it. My mom has problems w/ H. Pylori and has an esophogeal stricture -- she has trouble eating from it and vomits a lot.

My enterolab results were:

Fecal Antigliadin IgA 23 (normal <10)

Fecal Antitissue Transglutaminase IgA 16 (normal <10)

Microscopic Fecal Fat was normal
