Okay this might seem really stupid but alot of generic salts list "dextrose" as an ingredient. I've tried googling certain brands to find out their source of dextrose but haven't had any luck. (i only remember this problem after 5pm, when most places are closed). Any advice? knowledge of whether cheap salt is safe? info on specific brands that are or aren't safe would be awesome.

It should be gluten free. But you should try Real Salt. It costs more but it tastes so good you'll never want anything else.
