My step son is having grandparents day in a few weeks and they will be having bagels and doughnuts. I would like to make him some gluten-free doughnuts so that he can eat with his grandparents, does anyone know of any good recipes?

Kinnickkinnik makes good donuts that can be found in the freezer cases.
I've only ever tried one recipie but I was happy with it. It makes ALOT but they freeze beautifully. We tried making two sizes of donut holes and donuts. My concern was that if in re-rolling and adding more four to prevent sticking we would end up with a tougher dough, so I used my set of four graduated biscuit cutters and fit them as close together as I could, still had a little re-rolling but they were fine. some sizes absorbed oil a little more than others. We dredge them in cinnamon sugar while still warm.
This is from The Gluten Free Gourmet by Bette Hagman
3/4 c. Garfava flour(I think I used Bob's all-purpose)
1/4 c. sorghum flour(I recommend NOT substituting for another flour)
1 c. tapioca flour
1c. cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. dried orange peel(I used fresh)
2 eggs
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sour cream
1/3 c. orange juice concentrate thawed,
1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
Variation:(this is the one I made) Instead of orange peel, use 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg. Omit OJ concentrate and increase sour cream to 2/3 c. Use 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon for dredging.
Combine flours, cornstarch, gum, b. powder, b. soda, orange peel and salt. Set aside.
In a mixer bowl, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla 'till thick and lemon-colored. Combine sour cream, OJ concentrate and melted margarine. Add these alternately to the egg mixture with the dry ingredients, beating until just blended after each addition. Chill the dough for 30 min.
Roll the dough out on a surface dusted with sweet rice flour(I used reg. rice flour), working in enough flour for the dough to be easily handled.(I did this sparingly and handled the dough lightly). Roll out to 3/8 inch thickness and cut. Deep fry in 375 degree oil until golden brown(about 1 min. per side), turning once. Drain on paper towels. Makes 2 1/2 dozen(I got more)
It's really not hard but the frying process takes more time than expected. Don't fry too many at a time and let the oil come back up to temp in between batches.

Missy's mom, thank you so much. I wasn't expecting to get a reply so quickly. I like how you add your own little comments when posting a recipe, that really helps to understand the process better. Thank you, I will try to remember to let you know how they turn out! If I don't just break down and buy the pre made ones......

I may just make note of that recipe myself. Never actually tried baking my own donuts, but I sure order Kinnikinnick a lot, dont think anything can top their donuts haha.

Here's a link to an old discussion about doughnuts. There are plenty of recipes to choose from.
