Kix has oats in it. They can be contaminated with wheat in the growing/storing/processing. Most corn flakes have malt in them, which is usually from Barley. Here is the ingredient panel from

There are safe brands of corn flakes that do not contain barley malt in them. I have heard that there is a Genral Mills cereal called Tigger and Pooh that is like Kix, but I haven't seen in locally yet.
