Normally when I get the massive bloating, I do a fast and the bloating goes away, and then dairy or sugar is not a problem. Now I cannot eat anything!
This time I am doing the fast and even the carrot juice is causing me to bloat.

Now I'm wondering if my bacteria are out of balance because of the ice cream I was eating, (bad girl sad.gif ) and maybe I should cut out all sugars and starches like the SCD diet. I got real sick at first from eating some yogurt with strawberry preserves. I mean really, really sick.

Or does anybody have any ideas as to why I'm still bloated and in pain, or anything that I could be doing?

Thanks!

I solved my own riddle.
I took 2 motrin because of my joint pain, and within 30 mins my stomach pain was gone.
So I obviously had some inflammation going on.
I have stopped drinking coffee, given up everything dairy except yogurt, and all sugar except honey for awhile. I also ordered the SCD diet in the hope that I can actually heal my intestines.
I've also lost 3 lbs! smile.gif

It might help. A lot of celiacs get SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). normally bowel flora stays in the large intestines. So depriving those buggers of sugars and starches might reduce the population. That is probably why fasting helps you. But remember that dairy products like yogurt and honey (obviously) contain sugar, there's lactose in dairy. The SCD diet might help, they ferment all the lactose out of the yogurt.

Also... you might have a casein sensitivity. You should probably stop dairy for awhile and see if that helps you out.

I haven't had any antibiotics in a long time so I knew the overpopulation wasn't from that exactly. But my dog has a yeast problem and she has no sugar or dairy or grains of any kind and I can't seem to get rid of her problem either. I wonder if a yeast problem is the same as SIBO? I'm a little confused about that.

I ordered a yogurt maker with the book and bought some goat milk so that I could make the SCD yogurt, although I ate some regular, plain yogurt and it didn't seem to bother me. Instead of the sugary preserves, I just added some crushed strawberries and I was thinking that's why I didn't get sick. But that might not be the case if I have any more. huh.gif

I did wonder about the honey. I'm anxiously awaiting the book hoping it will clear up the confusion about the honey. I also wondered about the natural sugars in the carrot/apple/ginger juice.
