Just in case somebody wonders where I am, my husband and I are leaving very early tomorrow morning (Saturday, Feb. 16th) to go to Queretaro, Mexico until Sunday, Feb. 26th.

A friend of ours was transferred to Mexico for five years last year. He is an engineer working for Michelin, and the plant he was working at was shut down. It is hard to find good engineers, so they transferred him.

His wife is desperate for visitors from Canada! So, we are doing her the favour and will make the great sacrifice to spend a week with them.

Being gluten-free shouldn't be a problem, since we are staying in a private house, and Judy and I will go shopping together for food. Plus, I told her what I can and can't eat beforehand. I hope I'll be just fine.

I'll give you all a report when I get back.

Enjoy your trip Ursa!!! I am so jealous that you will be in warm weather... although you deserve it more being from Canada than I do in North Carolina. But still, I would love some hot weather right now.

Anyway, eat some guacamole for me and have a safe trip!!! You are a great friend to make such a sacrifice!

Thank you guys! Actually, where we are going it isn't hot in the winter. At night it is supposed to go down to 5 degrees Celsius (41 degree Fahrenheit), and the warmest time of the day will be anywhere from 17 degrees C (62.6 degrees F) to 25 degrees (77 degrees F). And it isn't humid, either (about 62% humidity).

Mind you, I suffer in humid heat and these are perfect temperatures for me.

I do too Ursa--that climate would be perfect for me too. Humidity, when it's high, actually feels like it's stifling me.

I've never been to Queretaro, but I lived in Guanajuato which is, from what I hear, fairly similar. Having said that, I would bring a wind resistant jacket of some sort because there can be really biting winds, especially at night.
