Wow that is quite the line up.
jerseyangel
Thanks for all the details, Julie--I didn't know who a couple of them were tongue.gif

Looking forward to it!
Guhlia
Woo-Hoo!!! Go Marlee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam Carolla?!?!?!?! That'll be a sight to see! Anyone think he'll dance any better than Wayne Newton? Somehow it doesn't seem fair pitting him against Kristi Yamaguchi... JMO

I'm looking forward to it too, although I have to admit a few of the stars I have never heard of.

I would venture to guess Adam Carolla has the potential to be better than Wayne, Wayne was awfully stiff, but who knows it's always a surprise to see those you think will do well that don't, or vice versa.

I frankly can't picture Penn ballroom dancing laugh.gif laugh.gif

I believe the new season starts March 17th biggrin.gif

Will Marlee be able to feel the music while wearing those big heels?

Julie!!!! biggrin.gif I've missed you the last few days and I was hoping you'd check back today of all days!

Of course I'm watching tonight--can't wait....and of course, I have already set the DVR for Big Bang Theory laugh.gif If I can wait that long, I think I'll watch it on Wednesday since there's not much else on.

I know biggrin.gif How are you and the little ones, Angie?
jerseyangel
Well, what did everyone think?

I liked Jason Taylor and Mario for the men and Kristi Yamaguchi for the women. I thought Pricilla Presley did well, but I'm not a big fan....

I also thought Steve Gutenburg was charming smile.gif
juliem
I LOVED IT!!

The 2 nights is killing me though, I will be happy when they consolidate it into one......hmmmm but now that I am thinking about it it will always be 2 nights, one for the dancing and one for the vote off. Ugh! It makes it hard to keep up.

But I digress biggrin.gif

loved it, loved it, loved it!

Every season I think it could never top the season before, but there are a lot of FUN Stars this time around. Penn and Adam Carolla are hysterical! Mario is probably my favorite guy, but I am with you Patti I like Jason too.

For the gals, I liked Kristi and Marlee (she did amazing!) Pricilla did better than I thought she would. I felt bad for Monica Seles, I could tell she was so out of her comfort zone but good for her for trying something new.

We are doing well. Annika is still suffering from the rash, but its no where near as bad as it was while I was breastfeeding. We're are one by one going through the formulas trying to find the right one for her. She started on Claritin today for the itching and her rash seems to be MUCH better as well, so maybe that's our answer? Who knows. I'm just glad it doesn't look like she's covered in cigarette burns anymore. That was awful. Tori's well also. She tested negative through Enterolab. smile.gif She's starting to read really well and is moving past just strict phonics. Its really cool to watch her growing up. She started gymnastics a few weeks ago and she loves it. She's on spring break right now so I'm just trying to spend as much time with her as possible before she goes back to school.

I really liked Marlee Matlin. I thought she did amazingly well, especially considering she's deaf. She represents one of my favorite TV shows, so I'm really cheering for her. I thought Jason and Mario were very good for the men. I thought Kristi Yamaguchi did really well, but I can't stand her from her figure skating days. Ugh, so boring... Presley did very well too, especially for her age. I was surprised. How old is she???

Anyway, I'm really rooting for Marlee Matlin this year. I know she won't win, but what an inspiration to others!!!

I agree, Marlee was amazing! I hope she goes far in the competition.

Pricilla is 62.

What does everyone think about who was kicked off first, Monica Seles for the ladies and Penn for the men?

I felt so bad for Monica, I thought she was judged harshly. This is something she was totally not used to doing, no dancing experience whatsoever, and she put her self out there to try something new, I thought she did pretty well considering.

Same with Penn.

But, someone always has to go, the name of the game I guess.

Guhlia
I was actually glad to see Penn go. I thought he was a little on the obnoxious side with his comments to the judges.

I'm really rooting for Marlee Matlin this season. I don't think she'll win, but I hope she goes to the finals.

I wasn't surprised--I actually thought they would be the first two to go. I know what you mean, though--Monica tried so hard and was visibly hurt when she was eliminated. I feel so bad for the first to go--all that work for one try at it. sad.gif

I have to say I didn't care for Penn either....I love Marlee and I'll bet she makes it to the finals--or very close.
juliem
Marlee amazes me, she was so good tonight.

I pretty much have the same favorites, Kristi, Jason, Mario, Adam Carolla was even suprisingly ok (I think he's so funny too)
Guhlia
Julie, Marlee amazes me too. She is wonderful! She must be a very courageous woman to take on something like Dancing with the Stars.

I'm digging Adam Carolla too, though I think he'll be out either this week or next week. He makes me laugh. I remember watching him on the Man Show like ten years ago. lol

I'm also really impressed by Priscilla Presley. She's just so elegant and sexy for being 62.

I totally agree Angie. It's inspiring to see Marlee especially, but also Pricilla. I remember Adam from somewhere, but it wasn't the Man Show, I don't know if he was in any movies, or on an MTV show way back when. I am familiar with him, I just don't remember from where.

I guess I am not so surprised Steve Guttenberg was the next to go.

Glad you are jumping in on the fun Judy!
Guhlia
I also wasn't surprised to see Steve go. He was just kind of irritating. At least that's what my husband called it.

I really hope Marlee, Priscilla, and Jason are the top 3. I am sooooooo NOT a Yamaguchi fan. I didn't like her on the ice, and I don't like her on the dance floor. I'm not sure what it is about her, she just annoys me. She's boring.

Kristi has an edge from her skating experience that I think is not really fair for the rest of the stars. If not for a chance to watch her HOT dance partner I would be happy to see her go. Does anyone know if Priscilla has had cosmetic surgery? She looks so much like a wax figure but is very graceful!! I also LOVE Marlee!! glad for this thread as I am only fan in my house. I just want to get over the muscle and joint pain associated with disease so I can take ballroom dance lessons. It looks like soooo much fun!!!!
Judyin Philly
I THINK that I heard Priscilla did have cosmetic surgery and it didn't go well and she was not happy to have it done. This might even be a surgeon who is now in prison but NOT SURE.

This show inspires me to want to dance too! I hope to get healthy soon so I can take dancing lessons of some sort, shoot I'll even take country line dancing classes.

Judy is right, it has come out recently that Pricilla actually went to some quack "Dr" that used unapproved substances he injected into his patients faces, claiming they were miracle drugs and better than botox. The injections (which was actually low grade sillicone) caused lumps, paralysis and ate away the tissue deep inside the tissues causing holes.

Scary.

Yep--I read about that recently, too. Evidently the surgeon was practicing without a medical license and Priscilla was not the only well-known victim. I believe he is in prison--or at least was.

I kinda liked Steve Guttenberg ph34r.gif He had an elegance to him on the dance floor--not the best dancer but there was something about him I liked.

I think Christian is a bad sport--don't care for him at all. I like Kristi, Marlee, Jason and Pricilla.

I loved last night! Everyone I thought did so great.

My favorite dances were Jason, Marlee, Mario, and Shannon.

I really felt they scored Marlee too low, she deserved higher numbers IMO.
juliem

Thanks for the memories Adam Carolla biggrin.gif

I kind of figured it would be him to go home.....

I wasn't surprised nor was she I think.
I too thought Marlee did a great job.
I don't know enough about these dancses to see the mistakes rolleyes.gif
They all look good to me.
Still think Kristi is the best.
What are your thoughts?
Judy
dlp252
I watch the dances, but I never get to see who goes home. I loved the dances this week.
jerseyangel
I always enjoy "Latin Night"--those are my favorite dances biggrin.gif

I would have preferred that Christian go than Priscilla, but that's how it goes.

I love watching Kristi and Mark dance--they are so in sync and fun to watch. They are my fav's.

I did feel bad for Derek, having to go on live TV with food poisoning ohmy.gif Gotta give him credit for that--it had to have been awful. sad.gif

Judy, I agree. They all look pretty darn good to me considering they aren't dancers.

I loved Mario and Kristi the best this week. Mario and his partner I think really interpreted the dance well and Kristi is just a natural driven competitor.

Pricilla, Shannon, and Marlee especially all had a difficult night interpreting the dance.

I do agree though with the judges Pricilla was kind of disconnected and "thinking" too much (I think she gets nervous), Shannon could not get the hip action down, Marlee, bless her heart, really wanted to do better but it was very challenging to pick up all the different layers of the beats in the music.

Christian and Jason struggled with the hip action too, but I thought Jason did well despite that. I haven't been able to get behind Christian all season, not sure why.

I really thought it would be Shannon going home.
juliem

Anybody watch last night?

Kristi and Jason were my faves.

I have always been a fan of Kristi's and have followed her ice skating career, but I had no idea she had overcome club feet.
jerseyangel
I've liked Kristi and Jason all along. I had no idea about Kristi's feet, either--she's overcome a lot!

I hate to admit it, but Christian did very well last night, too. dry.gif tongue.gif

Julie--are you TiVo'ing Big Bang Theory? I have been and we usually watch it later on in the week--but last night I couldn't wait--so we watched after DWTS laugh.gif

Hi Judy biggrin.gif

I'm totally bummed Marlee was sent home tonight sad.gif

It's too bad she couldn't have gone on at least one more week to try to turn it around. I don't like to see her go on a low note, she was so upset and frustrated after the last two dances.
jerseyangel
I felt so bad for Marlee last night, too sad.gif It seems like it got harder and harder for her each week.

After Christian and Cheryl were saved, did anyone else notice that he suddenly had a hard time stringing two words together--he was absolutely giddy! Gawd dry.gif laugh.gif

I LOVED the group dance--I alway enjoy that, but the country dance was so fun! biggrin.gif
Guhlia
I was sad to see Marlee go, but I knew it was her time. sad.gif

That was kind of odd what happened with Cristian last night huh.gif

Jason is still my favorite. Loved Kristi's teal dress.
