Anyone know of a good doctor who actually knows and care what celiac is? Also one that is familiar with food intolerances, etc would be great too!!! Time to find someone who knows/cares!!

Thanks.

Hi Amy,
Where are you, to begin with. There are a great bunch of docs out there who know about it and yet many more who don't. We just have to keep looking until we found the right one.

I did not know I was wheat allergic until my husband, who happens to be an alternative kind of guy, said, hmm... and took me off wheat. I lost 80 pounds, my skin issues cleared up and a year later I still have more energy and more ability to focus than ever before.
In looking at the rest of my family we find all different degrees of the wheat issue from my basic allergy to it all the way to my sister being a full blown celiac patient. ( a doctor of hers once told her she was not celiac but just fat and quit eating so much.)

Some docs are willing to learn about it with you and some are not.

Might I suggest that you have a look at www.hdsmd.com in a week or so and I should have some links up by then.
Talk soon

Dr. Thomas Lacava (West Boylston, MA) is great with allergies/food intolerances celiac. He is an environmental specialist, not a GI but he has helped me more in two months than any Dr has in the past 20 years.
