Ok so here it is. I have a child 15 mths who has been gluten free for most of her life due to great dietary response.

So what has this got to do with me? Well for about 2 months now I have had some very interestin non specific symptoms. They start last from 3 to 5 days and then go away only to return a week or two later.

The first started as a bloated feeling in the stomach and nausea. after a night the nausea went away but my guts were tender to the touch. After this I got pain in my lower abdomen and in the area where my kidneys were. doc put it down to bladder infection. I vomited once during this put it down to the pain.

Second time was much like the first but no vomiting had a kidney scan nothing.......

third time same as first and second.

Ok this last time started off as a migraine and a vomit. Then I felt like I had the flu with no fever. chills felt tired sore muscles ect. I also had gut pain and felt bloated or always full. If i did eat anything as soon as I did I felt pain in my stomach for a short while before it settled. Went to doc he pressed on stomach and it felt as if I had been punched there. my bowels were tender to touch. I also started to get the kidney pain again.I have regular poops and they are normal looking not like my daughters.

The doc has sent me to a specialist abdo surgeon are these celiac symptoms that anyone else has experienced?
Ursa Major
Well, lets just say that celiac disease is genetic, and your daughter got it from somebody! Yes, all your symptoms could be caused by gluten. It doesn't matter that you don't have the same symptoms as your daughter. No two people have exactly the same symptoms. In fact, some people don't have any symptoms at all, with completely destroyed villi!

I think the best thing you could do is to join your little one in her gluten-free diet. It won't harm you, and you might just feel better.
