Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on the cover looking great.
In the article she mentions celiac disease but, calls it an "ALLERGY" to
wheat, rye, barlety, and oats. Too bad, she could have gotten the
correct information out to the public.

One does have to wonder why she wouldn't have explained it correctly. If it's an allergy why not call it that, or at least say an intolerance to gluten. She has all these people's attention...

i guess i kind of understand why she calls it an allergy. i often use the term allergy when explaining it to people, because they get bored if i go into a long explanation of how it's actually an intolerance....just to simplify things, i will say that i'm severely allergic to it and will become physically ill if i eat any. most people can understand/relate to allergies more easily. dunno, just my thoughts wink.gif
Worriedtodeath
my daughter's ped gi says my baby doesn't have Celiac but so obviously has an allergy/intolerance to wheat, rye, barley, and oats. ??? maybe Elizabeth gets the same crap as the rest of us ....

How much flak will I get for saying she's coming off as an airhead, again ?

Think of all the women who look lumpy in a bikini but who can explain the difference between food intolerances, food allergies, gluten intolerance, auto immune reactions, and celiac disease ?

No "flak" but I'd prefer not to think about people who look lumpy, male or female. tongue.gif

I too was disappointed in her article. I saw it online and hoped that the print version would have more information regarding her "diet" that she followed to lose her weight. It was very basic and didn't really have anything we already don't know. I shouldn't have expected much more but I guess I was hoping for some surprises that might be useful.

She's not eating anything I don't already. And I don't have to pay for high priced trainers!

Thank goodness for that!
