Yesterday my daughter and son-in-law took Zoey for her x-ray and they were so hopeful that her cast would come off (for anybody who didn't read my first topic on this- she broke her femur four weeks ago and is in a cast that goes from her left ankle right up to her ribcage, so she can only lie flat). It was their fourth wedding anniversary yesterday, too.
Anyway, the doctor looked at the x-ray and told them that it isn't nearly healed, and she needs the cast for another three weeks. When then they tried to book another appointment for in three weeks, they were told that doctor would be on holiday then, and they had to book it for in four weeks.
They asked if they could see another doctor, so Zoey could have her cast off in three weeks, but were told that wasn't possible. That makes me angry! There is a poor baby in this heat in that big cast, and they can't accommodate them somehow? Don't they have a heart?
The doctor said if he would take the cast off now, it would break again if only she would roll over in bed the wrong way. It doesn't seem fair.
But through all this, Zoey is incredibly cheerful, it is amazing. She is also getting very patient with her colouring. A month ago she was scribbling all over the place when colouring, like all two-year-olds. Now she won't leave a single speck white, and completely colours in the lines! I've NEVER seen a child her age (25 months old) colour in the lines before.
Oh well, I guess the next four weeks will pass soon enough, the first four weeks went by quickly.
