My wedding venue includes our wedding cake in our package. They do offer a flourless cake, but I was wondering if anyone on here had any issues with their flourless cake. I am emailing them to find out what the ingredients are to make sure it's gluten-free, not just wheat free. I know that there is still a chance for cross contamination - which if I eat it I probbaly won't have an issue. I don't get a lot of the "glutened" symptoms that i've read on here. I'm not complaining, but sometimes I kind of wish that I did just so I know what I need to stay away from. Anyways...I digress....But any information for those who ahve been to Cakes for Occassions would be appreciated

Well I did talk to the owner, she actually told me not to bother getting the cake there. LOL. They are a nut free bakery so they know and understand more about cross contamination and know that even a crumb isn't good. So I guess we'll be doing our large tiered cake through them...and going to Celia Cakes for a mini-verson so I can have my cake and eat it too....

I have bought 2 gluten-free cakes from Crown Bakery in Worcester, MA. The cake is very pretty and tastes great. The ones I've bought have about seven thin layers with pastel colored filling between each. I'm sure they could modify it for you. They have other gluten free pastries also. All have been excellent.

I have heard many bad things about Cakes for Occasions including them FORGETTING about a wedding cake order and the poor bride not having one for her wedding. They claimed they misplaced the order and couldn't provide a cake on the day! I have also heard the quality is poor from comments like the cake is dry. I'd be afraid to trust then with my wedding cake. Simply sharing comments I've heard around. If I were you, I would ask my venue for a credit for the cake and buy it elsewhere.
